Nitya Health (“Nitya Health”, “we”, “us”) builds a women’s health app that helps you track your cycle, routines, habits and workouts, with guidance from an AI health coach. Health information is deeply personal, so this policy explains in plain language what we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.
This policy applies to the Nitya Health Android app (com.sawmya.nitya) and to the website nityahealth.app (together, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to the practices described here and in our Terms & Conditions.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. Depending on the features you use, this can include:
- Account details, such as your name, email address and sign-in information.
- Cycle and health data, such as period dates, cycle length, symptoms, mood, energy, sleep and notes you add.
- Routine, habit and supplement logs, and workout data such as exercises, sets, reps and weights.
- Messages you send to the AI health coach and the responses it generates.
- Anything you send us when you contact support or give feedback.
Information collected automatically. When you use the app we may collect technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, crash reports and basic usage events (for example, which screens are opened). We use this to keep the app working and to improve it.
Website. This website does not use advertising cookies or ad trackers. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested). Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the core features: cycle and period predictions, your daily planner, habit streaks and workout tracking.
- To personalise AI coaching to your cycle phase, routines and goals.
- To keep your account secure, prevent abuse and fix bugs and crashes.
- To understand how the Services are used so we can improve them.
- To respond to your questions and send important service messages (for example, changes to these policies).
- To comply with legal obligations.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent (which you can withdraw at any time), on what is necessary to provide the Services you asked for, on our legitimate interest in running and improving a safe service, and on legal obligations.
3. How we treat your health data
Your cycle and health data belongs to you. We commit that:
- We do not sell your personal or health data, and we do not share it with data brokers.
- We do not use your health data for targeted advertising.
- We do not share your health data with employers, insurers or lenders.
- We use it only to provide and improve the Services for you, or where you explicitly ask us to.
4. The AI health coach
When you use the AI coach, your message and the relevant context needed to answer it (for example, your current cycle phase or recent habits) are processed by AI model providers that we engage to generate a response. We share only what is needed for that purpose, and these providers are bound by contract to protect the data and use it only to provide their service to us.
AI responses are generated automatically and can be inaccurate or incomplete. They are general wellness guidance, not medical advice. Please do not use the coach for emergencies.
5. When we share information
We share personal information only in these situations:
- Service providers who help us run the Services, such as cloud hosting, databases, authentication, crash reporting and AI model providers. They may use the data only on our instructions.
- Legal reasons, when we are required to by law or a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or Nitya Health.
- Business changes, if Nitya Health is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent, for any other purpose you agree to.
6. Storage, security and retention
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls and the principle of least privilege, to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep some information to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU/UK GDPR, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data and your account.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already took place.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and request data portability.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, where the law allows.
- Complain to a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
8. Children
The Services are intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Nitya Health is based in India. Our service providers may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps to make sure it remains protected as described in this policy and as required by applicable law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new “last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
11. Contact and grievance officer
For any question, request or complaint about privacy or your data, contact our Grievance Officer at [email protected]. You can also reach us through our Contact page. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and resolve them within the time required by law.
